Twitter people would have made it a tribal fight if not that they are from the same tribe.
It’s so sad to see young people engage in senseless tribal wars
Femi Otedola and Oba Otudeko (the founder of Honeywell Group) had a bitter power struggle for the control of First Hold Co (parent coy of First Bank)
Otedola built up his stake and emerged as the largest shareholder when Otudeko exited as chairman.
Then Otudeko Otudeko staged a dramatic comeback by acquiring a large block of shares (around 13–14%), briefly overtaking Otedola as the biggest shareholder.
There were boardroom fights to remove Otedola as Chairman, legal probes, and regulatory intervention.
Today, the rivalry has ended with Otedola firmly in control of the bank and Otudeko fully disposing all his shares at first bank.
