Staff and skills shortage in #hospitality is as acute as can be right now. However it is only the beginning and will get far worse very quickly. Right now working in the industry is seen as precarious as can be. Without decisive & urgent action we are in for a very tough time.
Everybody has witnessed how brutal the last 14 months has been for Hospitality.
Now burdened with debt and struggling to keep their heads above water.
If you are one of these people booking a table, but not showing up...you are a disgrace.
If they could change the furlough employee start date that would be grand. Made redundant in lockdown 1, worked hard to get a new job, start date pushed due to lockdown 2.0 worked for 2 weeks then tier 3, restaurants closed. Full lockdown and still don't qualify for furloughπ
