@emswym I think what they got for Brown is actually fine, Stevens just has to land the plane.
What is bizarre to me is to even entertain trading for Giannis if you were never willing to offer a max which he was always going to demand. That's the part that makes no sense to me.
The Brown-George trade isn't a disaster for the Celtics
It's not great but it just puts them in a position with more assets to make a trade down the line. Big IF of course
I still wouldn't have made the trade but its not a disaster
Brown’s dependability plus the usage he absorbed allowed White to flourish in a less demanding role.
Was White better in his role than Brown his? I think so.
Doesn’t make White a better player.
The Knicks still have the best starting lineup in the East and probably most depth still.
Get a solid backup center and I don’t see why the team we just watched in the playoffs still isn’t the favorite.
This is the only point worth talking about.
Knicks fans got to take a long break from Dolan complaining but over the span of one month he’s made a number of questionable decisions both publicly and behind closed doors that have hurt the franchise. It’s really unfortunate coming off the back of our first title in 53 years.
I'm going to gather the words to Thank Mitchell Robinson now...
Dude, you're the man. You just are bro. You were with us from the beginning of the beginning.
A kid with no collegiate experience. Someone the experts said was "Raw" and a "project"... Yet, it was immediately known from summer league, we got a major impact player in our organization.
You were the hope for our future, when all we had was You, Frank, and Kevin Knox.
Seeing you fly up and down the court in your rookie year, it was a different Mitch. You had to be there. He truly was ahead of his time in terms of guarding 1-5. Even as you bulked up, you still competed on defense in switches like a demon possessed, most notably on the relentless closeouts on the entire Celtics roster in game 6 of the 2025 eastern conference semifinals. Probably why they wanted you so bad. They tried desperately to get you off the court and failed.
Why Mitch, Why?
Through RJ Barrett, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley, ALL OF OUR PICKS, you were the most successful draft pick and definitely the most feared by our opponents.
I'll never forget in the lost season of this winning Knicks era in 2022, You went out and guarded Kevin Durant on the perimeter and blocked him. Proving that you were a guy that neutralized otherworldly size and ability from the NBA's top talent.
You did that to Jokic.
You did that to Wemby, notably in the 4th quarter of the NBA cup, out rebounding the entire spurs team 8 to 6.
Getting your hand up on Wemby at the end of game 2 in the NBA Finals. That was the moment I got most emotional. I had to tell myself to not cry because of my Knicks PTSD, but that was the moment I knew we really could and should get this done.
The offensive rebound at the end of Game 5 was clutch, but nothing spectacular, because we've just been used to it. That's just the one we remember most. Think about all the possessions Mitchell Robinson saved over his 8 years with the Knicks!
There were many times where your health was on the line and you played. Then, there were times like in 2021 vs Atlanta where we wondered "What if we had Mitch?"
Then in 2023, vs Cleveland, we saw you become a father to Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Game 5 was one of the most dominating playoff performance in Knicks history. Go back and watch that second half. Truly, a Joe Jackson level performance.
Mitch is an emotional dude, but a GOOD DUDE. Whatever he was going through, he showed up for the team. You never questioned his WILL to GIVE EFFORT. He had his name in trade rumors, contract negotiations, damn near his ENTIRE TENURE with the New York Knicks. He was a staple in our locker room, the whole way through.
118 different teammates
4 head coaches
2 Front offices
Mitch was there, through ALL OF IT.
Although it SUCKS to see him leave to the CELTICS, gross, just so freakin nasty...
At least he leaves as a KNICKS CHAMPION. Imagine if we got it done without Mitch? Everyone would have said, "I wish Mitch was here, cuz he deserves a ring." Well, he got one.
Mitch: Knicks fans are forever grateful for all the hard work you put towards making our dream come true.
Once a Knick, Always Champion
and in my book?
No one should wear the number #23 again.
