I've seen a @hrw report on the @EACOP_ project in Uganda. Apart from regurgitiating the usual discredited, bandwagon Poverty conservationist talking points, they also make a new absurd claim that EACOP will emit more greenhouse gasses every year than "the annual emmissions of Australia". please note Australia consumes over one million barrels of oil per day and produces almost 554,763,963 tonnes of coal per year. Remember also the emmissions from other sectors like mining and manufacturing in Australia. So how on earth can anybody claim that Uganda's 200,000 barrels per day will emit more green house gasses than the 1m barrels of oil or millions of tonnes of coal from Australia per day? Has the poverty conservation brigade become so deseperate that they will throw everything in defence of poverty hoping that something sticks? poverty conservation courtsey of agents like Human Wrongs Watch should be defeated.
