Pastor, husband & father of 4.
God's word is true. The gospel is sweet. Christ is altogether lovely.
In Nomine Patris et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti, Amen.
@lukedsimmons@jasonkovacs This is part of the problem. Viewing the sermon as the main and only focus of the Lord's Day service. The singing, confessing of sins, hearing the word read, hearing how people pray, taking part in the Supper - all these are as important and formational for children.
@JoshuaBarzon I wonder through if the creation of the woman from the man's side points to the first gospel - Adam loses a bit to gain a bride. Christ gives of His very self to redeem the Bride.
@JamesBejon "It" in your last = the first resurrection of Rev 20?
And in sum, your answer above is you don't know when that happens and who's included in it?
Many young people in my community are keen on tattoos. They might have a certain allure when you're young but - truth be told - they become grotesque/ugly as you age. And this is true of both women and men, but especially women.
Attention, ladies.
I beg of you, please don't cover your beautiful skin with tattoos.
Your natural beauty is far more timeless than any ink. Leave your skin as nature intended.
One day, when you're holding your grandchildren, I think you'll be glad you chose timeless beauty over temporary fashion.
Ladies: Do you think tattoos are an expression of femininity or distract from it?
Men: What do you think?
In about 800 words @PLeithart makes a scintillating case for male ordination that also touches on human sexuality. May God increase such brilliant minds, for the flourishing of the Bride and the glory of her Groom.
If men and women are interchangeable in the garden-sanctuary, why not elsewhere? If the sexes are interchangeable at the center of life, in the liturgy, why aren’t they interchangeable everywhere?

Titus Njari Ndei, 41, led Kitengela landlords to build their own private sewer line after years of sanitation problems in the fast-growing town.
With the population ballooning, property owners had relied on expensive septic tanks that often overflowed and posed health risks.
Frustrated by the Kajiado County Government’s failure to provide a lasting solution, the landlords decided to take action.
The push started in 2013 when the county sued 22 plot owners for discharging raw sewage, contrary to the Public Health Act. They were released on bonds of KSh 180,000–200,000.
Two months later, the accused landlords mobilized under Engineer Ndei and registered the Kitengela EPZ Neighbouring Community Sewer Project. They secured approvals from EPZA, NEMA, and other authorities, then funded a KSh 85 million, 45-kilometre, 2-foot-wide sewer line running to the Athi River EPZ trunk sewer.
The project was funded by hundreds of landlords contributing KSh 250,000 each plus a KSh 1,000 registration fee, and paying EPZA tariff fees ranging from KSh 7,500 to KSh 74,000.
The completed sewer now serves 818 landlords and has eased the burden of paying KSh 200,000 every 2-3 weeks to the county for waste disposal. Ndei says the community initiative gives residents a chance to manage sanitation sustainably.
Women mate horizontally and up. Men mate horizontally and down.
Scott Galloway’s blunt take: The pool of men who can meet women’s standards is shrinking fast, while women are ascending faster than any group in history, more college degrees, more home ownership, more power.
We shouldn’t slow women down, but we need to figure out how to produce more economically and emotionally viable young men, or household formation is going to collapse.
What’s your take, is this trend creating a growing mismatch between men and women that society needs to address?
