Nice proof of concept of radiographer preliminary image evaluation in CT making a difference to patient outcomes by Allie Tonks & Caitlin Tu. #ASMIRT2023
#backtobasics with Sally Ball. Even in the digital radiography world we live in, collimation still matters. Thereโs no substitute for good basic skills
Sally ball (assistant director of medical imaging @pahospital) presenting her research: do radiographers collimate? Fascinating how much impact collimation has on image quality. Same patient, but the second image is collimated correctly. #ASMIRT2023
Great project by @pahospital radiographers and radiologists working together. Radiographers flag and comment on urgent and unexpected findings and call either the requesting doctor or radiologist. Ensuring findings are reviewed and patients are prioritised. #ASMIRT2023
Our poster on IPV is at #ASMIRT2023 a bit of a passion project of mine, we're quick to flag NAI in paeds, often there's no set protocols for mismatched clinical presentations in adults. One phone call can make a huge difference to someone's life. Few institutions tied to this ๐
Crushed Iโm not able to present this study at @ASMIRTorg #ASMIRT2023 but so proud of this work. Grateful for @TomsteffTom for presenting on behalf of the team.
Another fantastic study coming out of the @pahospital here we have our radiographers (@ChelsCastillo et al) working with radiologists and emergency doctors to create request standards to improve radiology reports. #ASMIRT2023
All thanks to vigilant eyes of our Radiologist. The key was history and the background info. He had chest pain with BP 220/120. ECG and echo were normal. This info I had mentioned on my consultation and was read by the radiologist. https://t.co/QvWgaLbLWd
Publication is more than just writing a few drafts and hoping for the best, there are a lot of aspects that arenโt talked about. We cover a lot in this series including authorship, how to approach revision, what to write in your revision letter and predatory journals.
Our systematic review has been published in @jmrsjournal The communication of clinical information from referrer to radiologist has a positive effect, and hereโs the paper to support it. Thank you to my co-authors๐๐พ @TomsteffTom Dr Lawrence Sim @DrLiamCaffery@UQ_COH@pahospital

Amazing to see the hundreds of hours dedicated to education paying off. Well done @MikeNeep and @TomsteffTom. We are lucky to have mentors like you two at @MetSthHealth #ASMIRT2019
