Thanks to my new students for the follows! I have reached my limit of following for today, so please DM me if I’m not following you back over the next few days.
Are you an undergraduate or graduate student in PR or mass comm? Check out the call for applications to the Susanne A. Roschwalb Grant for International Study and Research Award. Deadline: 5/2/2025. For more info, contact Nur Uysal at [email protected]. https://t.co/qsecmUSoQS
Hi! I'm looking for accessible media (podcasts, short articles, etc) that discuss racism in terms of explicit/intentional/old-fashioned bias. So much of what is out there is framed in terms of implicit/unconscious/unintentional bias. Any interviews you're aware of? 1/2
@X Twitter, just trying to accept my new semester Social Media 120 followers, part of a required assignment, as a professor in higher ed. Great feature 👏 @elonmusk
University lecturers: “we have a lot to cover today so we can’t waste time”
Also University lecturers: “Apologies for the 40 minute detour; but you needed to understand the 1989 Blackadder tv series to appreciate that the joke I just made was actually quite funny.”
In lieu of examining Twitter for the asset it once was, my students will now explore its downfall and the rise of other social networking sites as a direct result.

“Women earn more than 50% of PhD’s, but receive only 39% of postdoc fellowships & 18% of professorships.[..] The more decorated a male scientist is, the fewer women he trains, and universities hire their junior faculty members from these elite men’s labs.”

My 3rd year teaching a student asked me to attend his high school graduation.
My 5th year teaching I was invited to the same student's college graduation.
My 15th year teaching I attended his wedding.
And in my 19th year of teaching, I held his newborn baby.
My mentor. My friend. I owe you so much, dear Treat Williams. To say you will be missed is an absolute understatement. Thank you for everything. I wish I’d said it more.
2 South Carolinians, our very own, were murdered in Mexico during travel seeking affordable #healthcare. Our federal & local officials are as to blame as any cartel member. Make healthcare accessible for all Americans. @POTUS @LindseyGrahamSC https://t.co/rGGUfG16Ps
The context of this swift verdict for non-locals is difficult to articulate. As recently as 2021, death row inmates were required to choose between the electric chair and a firing squad in SC.
