What if the real reason they wanted to open the economy ASAP is so that we don’t all break our addiction to overspending? Like if we go too long, we’ll all realize that we don’t need all the stuff we thought we did to survive and be happy? Oh how devastating that would be to GDP!

So no more relying on one factor - GDP - that derives 70% of its value from consumer spending. It virtually guarantees that our country will stoke our addiction to the rat race. A never ending cycle of working and spending to death. What for?
