Two more houses were reportedly burned in Senapati, including one in Taphou Kuki village. Heavy firing was also reported, leaving a CRPF personnel injured.

This is exactly why the Kuki-Zo people cannot be expected to accept symbolic gestures as proof that peace has returned. Free movement without security, trust, accountability, and a lasting political settlement is not genuine peace.

For the Kuki-Zo people, Separate Administration (SA) is about protecting life, land, villages, dignity, and future generations. After the experience of violence and displacement since 2023, people need a political arrangement in which they can live without constantly fearing that their homes will be burned again.

Protect lives. Protect villages. Secure our future.

It is deeply concerning that the peace-loving village of Taphou was attacked by the Tangkhul secessionist narco-terrorist NSCN-IM in the early hours of the morning and the attack is still ongoing.

Shockingly, there has been no condemnation nor any security deployment by the Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh @YKhemchandSingh, or his Meitei government.

The official handle of the Manipur Police @manipur_police on X, which is otherwise prompt in targeting the Kuki-Zo community, also remains conspicuously silent on this incident.

One is compelled to ask what has happened to Meitei Home Minister Shri Govindas Konthoujam @KonthoujamG.

Are the innocent and peace-loving Kuki-Zo paying the price of the so-called free movement?

🚨 URGENT APPEAL: OPEN THE SENAPATI–KANGPOKPI HIGHWAY AND PROTECT CIVILIANS

We urgently appeal to the Supreme Court of India, NIA, CBI, Government of India, security authorities and all competent institutions to take immediate and impartial action to ensure the safe and unrestricted movement of civilians, essential commodities, medical supplies and transport along the highway between Senapati and Kangpokpi districts.

For communities living in and around Kangpokpi, Ukhrul and Kamjong, road access is not a political privilege—it is a lifeline. When highways remain blocked or movement is restricted, ordinary civilians suffer first. Patients may be unable to reach hospitals, medicines become difficult to obtain, and food, rice, fuel and other essential commodities can become increasingly scarce.

There are serious allegations that armed or armed-looking groups and individuals have been stopping and threatening truck drivers and restricting movement along the route. These allegations—including those concerning NSCN-IM, ZUF Kamson Group and Shan National Army/junta-linked elements—must be independently, impartially and transparently investigated by competent authorities. No individual or organization should be above the law.

We also urge authorities to examine allegations concerning the role or support of organizations including the United Naga Council, Senapati District student bodies, JTM, NPO and ANSAM in relation to any blockade or restriction of essential movement. Accountability must be based on verified evidence, not collective blame.

OUR DEMANDS:

🔴 Immediately restore free and safe movement on the Senapati–Kangpokpi highway.

🔴 Deploy adequate Central security forces at vulnerable points to protect civilians, drivers and essential supplies.

🔴 Ensure uninterrupted transportation of medicines, food, rice, fuel and other necessities.

🔴 Investigate every credible allegation of threats, extortion, violence or obstruction and prosecute individuals found responsible under the law.

🔴 Protect truck drivers and transport workers from intimidation and ensure that no armed group or civil organization can unlawfully control a public highway.

🔴 Ensure equal protection and equal justice for every community, without discrimination.

The national highways of India belong to the people of India. They must remain accessible to every community, not be treated as the exclusive lifeline of any particular group.

We appeal to the authorities: do not wait until another civilian life is lost because essential medical care or supplies could not reach those in need.

OPEN THE HIGHWAY. PROTECT CIVILIANS. RESTORE FREE MOVEMENT. ENSURE EQUAL JUSTICE.

The concept of FREE MOVEMENT under the protection of the CRPF and BSF is laughable. That is precisely why I refer to them as THIBAIKON MEITEI MINAI. IN LOVING MEMORY — REMEMBERING THE KUKI LIVES LOST

These lives must never be reduced to statistics or forgotten names. The families of innocent Kuki civilians who were allegedly kidnapped, ambushed, attacked at their homes and killed deserve truth, justice and accountability.

Serious allegations have been raised concerning the NSCN Eastern Flank, NSCN-IM, ZUF-Kamson Group, Shan National Army and junta military. Every allegation involving the killing, kidnapping, hostage-taking or targeting of civilians must be investigated independently, impartially and without fear or favour.

We demand immediate action by the Supreme Court of India, NIA, CBI and all competent authorities. Evidence must be secured, witnesses protected, the complete chain of responsibility established, and every person found responsible through due process must be prosecuted under the law.

Justice cannot be selective. Justice cannot depend on community, identity, geography or political influence. The law must be equal for every citizen.

The families deserve answers. The victims deserve dignity. The people deserve accountability.
