@FreddiesFlowers wow . I can’t believe the price of your Amaryllis Christmas bunch this year. Two years ago it was £35 plus delivery, last year it was 49 but this year it’s £70. I just can’t justify that cost !! Why the massive price increase? That’s more than inflation

Cranleigh, a Surrey independent school will *only* pass on a 12% VAT raise to parents.

They managed to save on the 8% by abolishing all bursaries & free places & stopping free use of facilities to local youth groups, in order to recoup costs of maintenance.

🔴 Richer regions have been more severely affected by Brexit, thereby contributing to reducing regional inequalities but while making the whole of the UK poorer.

🔴 The cost of Brexit is notably different for the different countries and regions of the UK. The economic decline is most pronounced in England and Scotland, with GDP reductions of -7% and -8.7%. West Midlands, London, and coastal districts and cities have been hit hardest.

🔴 In contrast, Northern Ireland has mostly benefited, highlighting the regional disparities caused by Brexit. NI is a notable exception as it has effectively remained within the EU’s customs union and single market.

🔴This special status has allowed Northern Ireland to reconfigure its trade towards Ireland, significantly benefiting cross border trade and the border areas, while causing significant economic damage to ports previously key hubs for trade with mainland Europe and Great Britain.

🔴The overwhelming majority of local authority districts in Northern Ireland have outperformed their relative synthetic control estimate with an apparent pattern that suggests that rural and communities making up the UK’s last remaining land border with the EU may have benefited.

I've no love for Charlie Mullins but constantly ramping up total tax take on "those with the broadest shoulders" whilst simultaneously spaffing it in ideologically driven pet projects and pay increases for union funders is in no way fair on anyone
