How great would it be if all 33 of these Black postdocs went on to achieve their career goals? Last night we discussed our plan for making that happen.
Please support the @natblackpostdoc by RT'ing so our group can increase our visibility, grow, and further increase our impact.
Big shout-out to Prof. Malika Jeffries-El (BU) for coming to UMass as Chemistry’s first PPG Diversity in STEM speaker!! Fantastic seminar @Chem_Diva!! @UMassChemistry #WellesleyAlums
Such an awesome @UMassChemistry seminar today by @Chem_Diva Prof. Malika Jeffries-EL! It’s so cool to see work by such an amazing woman! (And someone who helped support me when I was a faculty candidate). 🥰🧪👩🏾🔬
A remembrance and celebration of life event will be held on September 10 for Jeffery A. Byers, an award-winning @ChemistryBC professor and researcher of sustainable chemistry who strived to inspire budding scientists.

Spent a lot of time this weekend thinking about @j_a_byers and reading about the impacts he had on so many. I never got to tell him, but I made it to Las Cruces and Southern NM this Spring. I don’t know what his religious views were, but this photo from Hatch seems appropriate.
@CThomas_group I can’t believe it…. Really saddened to hear this news. From the basketball court at Caltech to organic chemistry competitions as faculty, Jeff was a fun competitor and a great guy. He will be missed. 😔
Today, organometallic chemistry suffered the tremendous loss of outstanding teacher, mentor, and scientist Prof. Jeff Byers. But to me, he was a grad school friend who grew into a colleague, collaborator, and conference buddy. His loss will be felt by many for a long time.
Congratulations to Farkas group member and senior @UMassChemistry major Bao Le who is part of the cohort of #RisingResearchers! (https://t.co/hbP0zQztyE)
Congrats to the Spring #RisingResearchers! Whether studying foodborne pathogens or the health effects of smoking, the earliest stages of star formation or the evolution of social media communities, these undergrads are working to change the world. https://t.co/QKJTRImkhg
