@CareyLab@lewis_lakes@eco4cast@GLEONetwork That is really cool! I just wonder whether it is enough to only use historical water temp and oxygen concentration for predicating future oxygen conditions, without inputting algae biomass and nutrients.
Anyway it is really a great work!
Photosynthesis in action! In this short clip we see photons of red and blue light being absorbed by photosystem II. The energy then makes its way to the reaction center and is used to strip electrons from water. #education#animation#biology
@SarahKnutie I am also very confused about this paper......... Who is the reviewer? Definitely this manuscript should be rejected from the editor's desk, without sending to reviewers..... This is really out of my imagination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MJVanni@SenSherrodBrown@miamiuniversity @MiamiOH_OARS Congratulations! I am a 3-year PhD student in UFZ and will graduate next Feb. Your latest pcroject about reservoir ecosystems is quite interested to me since this is really my research topic in UFZ! I just wonder do you have a post-doc position for this project? Many thanks!
SCIENCE ALERT: Cyanobacteria float when it's calm enough... he's a jar of #LakeErie water that sat overnight. Each cell can regulate its buoyancy to stay at the water surface to get access to more sunlight
@EddieGreatLakes The lake was fully mixed in June 15, which means the extreme wind events will have a positive impact on mitigating hypoxia in the later time. Right?
DO DOWN: The dissolved oxygen in the bottom waters of #LakeErie has dropped substantially down to 1 mg/L this week. This is a result of thermal stratification crunching the cold isolated bottom waters in to a thin layer at the bottom of the lake.
Is there a group searching for a post-doc, doing lake modelling, water quality simulations or related topics ? I have publised two papers in this field, and two others are currently under review. Proficient in R, GLM and CE-QUAL-W2. Hope to work with you!
