To celebrate National Arts in Education Week, we stopped by @tomahawk_art at @OlatheTomahawk!

Christie Kerksiek's class participates in the Parade of Hearts (@ParadeofH), a public art experience that celebrates diversity, unites communities and supports nonprofits by placing beautifully designed hearts by local artists throughout the Kansas City region. Students who see one of the hearts in the region earn a custom sticker designed by Kerksiek! It is a great way for the students to interact with art in different communities around Kansas City.

Students also got to design their own hearts with all sorts of unique designs, and they have their own "Parade of Hearts" posted along one of the hallways at Tomahawk Elementary. Way to represent Kansas City and show why we are known as America's Heartland!
