Some food for thoughts, To manage one NCD (Hypertension, Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia) etc
1. You need about 150-200k monthly for drugs only (2.4m Ugx yearly)
2. 300-450k quarterly for laboratory investigations (1.8m Ugx yearly)
That’s that’s roughly 4.2m Ugx yearly, assuming no complications arise and you get admitted
And that you have only one NCD not 2 or more
So before you neglect healthy lifestyle (exercise, the food you eat, regular medical check up etc) this is one aspect of the implications you should have at the back of your mind
Despite several engagements with all the stakeholders. Pre-medical interns have remained helpless. Internship has now been left for only the 1% who can afford. The 99% have been left out. An urgent solution is needed. @KagutaMuseveni@kizzabesigye1 @@MinofHealthUG@StateHouseUg
We have written messages to you @AnitahAmong@RobinahNabanja_@KagutaMuseveni@JanetMuseveni
In the late hours of the nights calling for interns deployment with pay in vain. we are willing to come to the streets maybe the streets will listen to Ugandans who need health.
Today’s arrest of Medics fighting for their profession & seeking answers for the HEALTHCARE CRISIS can only make it worse!
All Ugandans have an urgent duty to address this crisis.
