Dear Alberta,
This haggard ICU doc would like to thank you for being good citizens. I was worried that the holidays would bring us a huge surge of COVID patients, and it is clear now that you all have done the right things. Your actions have saved many lives. All my love. 🙏🙏🙏
3. We are just learning about this new strain. It appears to be 10% more infectious but little mortality and morbidity data is known yet. It remains important to maintain distancing and masking more than ever.
2. #COVID19’s virulence factor is the ACE2 receptor ligand or spike protein. It allows it entry into blood vessels and causes a vasculitis. This is what the vaccine targets. Any coronavirus mutation that makes it impervious to the vaccine is also far less dangerous. #goodthing
1. Every virus mutates. They keep doing so until they perfect their niche. This usually involves increasing transmissibility and decreasing virulence. Overall, this is a good thing. https://t.co/vEb2VrJ2AD
@CBCCalgary Kenney has waited until this cancer has spread and overwhelmed our system before starting his treatment plan. Brace yourselves for chemotherapy when we could have gotten away with a simple surgery if he acted a month ago.

I know you don’t want to hear this, but Thanksgiving is a big deal this year. Given Edmonton’s skyrocketing #COVID19 numbers, this could be the event that ignites super spread. Distancing, hand hygiene and protecting our most vulnerable remain critical. Go all out next year.
Who would have guessed it a kid from Canada, Edmonton Alberta. Most people don’t even know where that. Where it snows I’m talking -40 weather, he’s now a champion league winner 😌💪🏾🙏🏾 #AD19⚡️
I strongly recommend that Albertans wear masks. We’ve undertaken many efforts to normalize & promote wearing masks the last few months. If you don’t already, please start today. Do it for yourself and for everyone around you. https://t.co/bRnl6RadLz
