@abolish_the_lRS@CNBC He’s not arguing to spend less. He’s arguing to tax fewer people. That means a small few will pay all the taxes. This will destabilize democracy.
@JeffBezos And then who covers the cost of all the government that the bottom half seems to want? Guess the upper middle gets to fund the whole country. What a way to destabilize democracy.
@ATheGreat1313@CNBC But his argument isn’t that no one pays taxes. His argument is that fewer people pay more taxes. So my argument is either we shrink government so we all pay less or a greater amount of people should pay so we are all equally engaged in the outcomes.
@ATheGreat1313@CNBC You believe because less people pay into it that means less money to corrupt governments? I believe the more people that have skin in the game the more likely people are engaged in civics and more likely to push back on corruption.
@shawngorham Possible but it should be so procedural that would be unlikely. Shops do have to test drive vehicles and sometimes on highway speeds but full to empty is excessive and not a good look.
@shawngorham Best practice for any shop would be to take photos of the car upon arrival which includes the mileage and gas. Reputable shops do this as part of an SOP.
Because you are right about major collisions which most of the time are total losses anyways but insurance underwrites for repair costs when they do get into smaller, fixable repairs. Which will be more expensive with a more technologically advanced computer on wheels. But you save money on gas, breaks, etc etc so it should even out in the end.
I think how you’re showing people what’s possible in trades is great. It shows young people there are more paths to success than college admissions.
But even trades have important details for people to understand so they pick the right one and are disciplined correctly for long term durability.
High margin trades tend to be easier barrier to entry and less durable long term. But great if you’re disciplined with the high cash flow and invest in durable assets rather than buy the big boat (right away).
Moderate margin trades tend to have a higher barrier to entry but better durability and often are what are bought out by PE - like his dad’s business.
@daniel_mac8 This assumes being an entrepreneur doesn’t require a skill set. But it does. Not everybody has the temperament, risk tolerance, cash-flow management and people management skills necessary to thrive.
@eligaultney@WindLawProf@GenZMultifamily I left my extended family in Southern California and made the is move a bit younger than you almost 20 yrs ago. I have zero regrets. You can actually start a life on a teacher’s salary here. You will thrive.
