Learned this week that my wife’s background check has been with @csiscanada since Sep 2024.

Just feeling tired, man. Waiting this long with so much uncertainty is hard 😔

Mother of two. Never worked in the military or intelligence. Never had a single immigration violation or overstay issue.

All parts of our PR application are done except her background check. Yet it has been stuck in a @csiscanada review since Sep 2024 with no updates or timeline

Our PR application is fully completed except for a dependent’s comprehensive background check, which has been ongoing since Feb 2024 by @csiscanada. She has never worked in the military or intelligence.

After 20 months of silence, CBSA finally confirmed my spouse’s PR delay is stuck at CSIS, not IRCC. Her file was sent to CSIS on Sept 9, 2024 and is still “ongoing.” Would love ro hear your thoughts @GhostsofIRCC Thanks!

Principal applicant (PR) A34 background check completed after 20 months but spouse still shows in process. Don’t have military background etc. usually how it works any comments? Thanks

@GhostsofIRCC Lol, good question. Know her really well, and all of her roles were civilian. She worked at a state-owned oil company as an engineer, not in a managerial position, in the Materials Resources Department (Former Soviet Country) and she works now in IT as a Software Developer. Odds?
