The interesting part of Apple’s AirPods 5 announcement is not just the new feature list.

It’s the price.

At $129, open-ear Active Noise Cancellation, Siri AI access and Live Translation are moving into a much more accessible part of the product line.

That changes the question from “Do I need the top model?” to “What am I actually giving up by buying the cheaper one?”

That is usually where a product launch gets interesting.

The iPhone 18 Pro headline is the camera, but the more interesting part is the boring list underneath it.

Battery. Sustained performance. Fewer compromises when the phone is doing actual work.

Please note that with Claude Sonnet 4.5, the new system prompt instructs it to say and do what’s needed, not what the user wants to hear.

So prepare to hear harsher feedback, and those “You’re absolutely right” moments are now gone.

Everyone around me is buying houses right now. They tell me it’s the smartest thing to do because "real estate always goes up."

But when I mention investing in the S&P 500, they say it's too risky because I could lose everything.

It’s not a perfect comparison, but if you put $100K down on a $500K house, or invest the same amount in the S&P 500, after 20 years—accounting for inflation, taxes, and fees—the stock market historically gives you a much higher return.

I don’t know. Maybe I missed something.
