Fund team members concluded 2 days at the IPA Conference. The first day was packed with valuable sessions focused on hiring and sustaining Black educators, fostering a sense of belonging for newcomer students, and exploring the role of leadership in creating a lasting legacy.

We're visiting Principal Clayton this morning at Kershaw Magnet! Entering her fourth year as principal, she previously served four years as Assistant Principal. Kershaw feels like home for her, as her parents attended the school and lived nearby in Englewood. #PrincipalPrideChi

King’s mission is to develop engaged leaders committed to academic excellence through a rigorous curriculum, extensive AP offerings, and robust engineering and performing arts programs. In 2024, King achieved a graduation rate of 96%, compared to the district average of 86.5%.

We are visiting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. College Prep, where Principal Brian Kelly, a Golden Apple Excellence in Leadership award recipient, leads the school. Located on Chicago's South Side, King College Prep serves over 700 students.
