Respectfully, this diagnosis feels incomplete.

Yes, marriage dynamics have changed and men must grow. But to frame the crisis mainly as a shortage of quality men ignores key realities.

Men did not decline in isolation. Society systematically weakened boys while still demanding leadership from them. There are far more NGOs, advocacy systems, scholarships, and social support structures for girls than for boys. You cannot underinvest in men and then shame them for not leading.

Great men still exist; responsible, disciplined, values-driven but they are often invisible in a culture that rewards flash over substance. At the same time, the decline in values is not male-exclusive. Unrealistic expectations, low tolerance for growth, and lifestyle-based mate selection affect both genders.

Cultural marriage didn’t thrive merely because women lacked education; it thrived because roles were clear, expectations were realistic, and accountability existed. What failed was not masculinity, but the refusal to redesign responsibility for modern realities.

Kingdom marriage is not sustained by men “stepping up” alone. It requires two mature people.
Leadership without support fails, and empowerment without responsibility also fails.

Finally, it’s worth noting that relationship spaces today are largely patronized by women, which can unintentionally bias the narrative. That doesn’t invalidate the message, but it does mean men’s realities deserve equal hearing.

The crisis is real but it is not a male-only crisis. Strong marriages are built by strengthening men and holding both genders accountable to character, not convenience.
