An easy explanation as to why out of pocket costs to see a doctor are increasing:
Medicare indexation 2.6%
Inflation 4.2%

@yupitchris@AvidCommentator My 17 year old in high school is literally working at Woolies, puts 50% in to his Vanguard account. He will pay 30% tax on capital gains when he sells, while his marginal rate is 0%.
@Steen_Dr@TMFScottP Low income teenager whose bought managed funds through childhood and wants to sell for car/uni/other reason, gets hit with 30% tax. Bit rough for them.
@GenZMom3@OANN@POTUS It costs $17.50 in Australia. If you are low income it costs $5 and it’s free if you are First Nations. If you aren’t Australian, it costs $42 - you could fly to Australia, have a holiday, get your medication for a year, fly back and you would still be ahead
@GrattanInst Remember the time when the Department of Health cut Medicare rebates for specialists providing services to rural areas right after COVID? I do. https://t.co/IakYxSfjhq
@PatMcGorry@GrattanInst Medicare rebates have increased by < 1% annually over the past 13 years since I started working as a consultant. My fees have increased by inflation. Did they actually talk to anyone before coming up with their 5 pt plan?
