On our inspection today, I noticed that there is huge improvement in almost all stations on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line. I've charged the contractors to continue with this pace but never to compromise on quality and safety. We want a rail line that will stand the test of time.

For now, we've suspended all barge operation permits pending when each operator will come back to @nigerianports, the National Inland Waterways Authority and @followlasg to renew such approvals if necessary.

Inspecting the Lagos Marina earlier today with Governor @jidesanwoolu. Soon, we'll put out a joint statement, the Federal Government and the Lagos State government, on the uncoordinated barging at the Marina causing lots of traffic in that axis./1

I've tasked the contractors on the Lagos-Ibadan rail line to ensure completion of all the stations by December including Apapa station which started late, so we can commission and make that route fully operational. They've given us a timeline. 👇

As for people trading along the rail line, please move far away from the tracks. It is unsafe to peddle around the tracks. We saw a market at Agege encroaching into the rail line. As soon as we start running, they have to give way.

Inspecting the site of the University of Transportation in Daura today, CCECC agreed to begin major construction by the end of September with TEAM offering to provide consultancy project monitoring service for free. We also paid homage to the Emir of Daura, Alh Umar Farooq Umar.
