Here is a man at sea. He has a chart, and that chart, if well studied, will, with the help of the compass, guide him to his journey's end. — Charles Spurgeon

‘Obi instrumental to erosion control’

A former Minister of Environment, Mr. John Odey, has said former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi was instrumental to the creation of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).
Under the project, the World Bank will finance the control and management of erosion in some states.
The former minister recalled how Obi almost single-handedly pushed for the project, even when his colleagues were lukewarm.
Odey spoke yesterday in Abuja at the official launch of the project at the Transcorps Hilton.
He urged communities to key in into the project. The World Bank Country Director Marie Francois Marie-Nelly said there was need to seriously tackle erosion in Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Edo and Cross River states.
She called for ownership and domestication of the project, especially in the affected states.
The World Bank chief hailed those implementing the project for their innovation, which emphasises reclamation and control.
Marie-Nelly said: “I have visited Edo and Anambra states. Under Peter Obi, I was pleased with his commitment, which he demonstrated by being the first to pay the state’s counterpart funds of N500 million for the project. Ebonyi, Cross River and Imo states have also paid theirs.”
Environment Minister Mrs Laurentia Mallam said erosion had caused havoc in several states and deprived the people of arable land.
I will not sell my soul for anyone, not even Peter Obi.
If I see Muslims being hypocritical- never calling out the extremism of their brothers and hiding under the blanket of “Islamophobia”, I’ll call it out.

4 ). Maybe I stumbled unto something, maybe it's nothing. But this is just to say that violence and war either based on religious or political reasons or agenda is always a dirty business, and its precursor politics, is perfidy.
1 ). Months ago, I remember the news about Ukraine considering to decriminalise and legalise the Porn industry for proceeds to support its war efforts against Russia, due to dwindling resources, and it was jarring.
3 ). I recently came across a recruitment agency training people to chat with foreigners on a Ukrainian chatting app that runs on "chat credits" after which you get a certain percentage of money made from your chat engagements.
It's Islamophobia Awareness Month, y'all. Don't let anybody gaslight you into thinking otherwise. Islam is dangerous, and your fear of it is very real, entirely justified, and rational.
Stay safe.

1 ). To everyone who resorted to personal attacks yesterday and failed to respond to my point on @Joe_brendan_ post on "Moslem Politicans," constructively. I have no issue with Moslems but the ideology behind Islam, behind their beliefs and its mandate.
This app is filled with uncouth, unlearned, and half educated people who lack basic English comprehension. Something I learned hard in primary 3 & 4 in my Agbo lives in the town of Lagun and old Roger is dead days. And they seriously want me to go back to that? Nah!
An Islamic missionary at work indeed. Let those who want to be decieved be decieved and let those who have ears and discernment hear and understand what the wind is saying.
@Joe_brendan_ 1 ). Comparing an American politician to Saudi Arabia isn’t the point here. The real issue is the fundamental incompatibility between Islamic doctrine and secular democracy. I am sure you are aware of this.
@TheFlying_Goat@Joe_brendan_ It's not about the votes, dear one. It's a question of the fundamental political and democratic compatibility of the politicians involved, specifically, how their ideology shapes their view of governance and its long-term effect on established democratic systems.
