@antonliubich@JPSalomonAI Debenhams,Thames Water were those PE firms improving people's lives or themselves? And by increasing milk production how many farmers did you put out of business? I'm not even that against PE but to claim that by increasing milk production your doing something good is not a given
@JamesLochh38421 Oh here another banger of a statement. This is a fucking lie it is utter nonsense. Just because they don't write IQ doesn't mean they don't use intelligence as a variable. Not to mention the issue with IQ as a measure of intelligence. Your grievance peddler
@JamesLochh38421 @garyseconomics Your brain seems to have taken a walk. Where did Gary say no kids would be born. In 1850s UK where abject poverty was at 30% did no kids get born. What a stupid pathetic argument. I know how I'll get Gary I'll make a dumb comment
@DanNeidle@samuel_leeds I will apologise if I made an incorrect assessment of your character but it was a little strange to see you reply to Samuel leeds someone who's responsible for a death and misery. All to shit on Gary. I've watched some videos of you and I can see your hearts in the right place.
@anandcheam@DanNeidle@samuel_leeds Grow up he replied to a guy who is responsible for the death of someone due to his dodgy deals. Who causes misery, why would you reply to a fraudster. Do I think Dan Neidle agrees with Sam....nope but why discuss Gary with Sam there's plenty others
@DanielPriestley Why would you state governed 25% of the world like this was a good thing. The British empire for most of the people in the empire was terrible life. UK at the height of British empire had abject poverty of 25-30%.
@Lyndonx Have you just discovered how progressive tax rate works. Top 1% pay 26% Gary's tax is not on income unless it over 10m so what are you arguing. Most wealthy people aren't earning their income via income tax. Your argument is bizarre
I'm sure there are some criticism of @garyseconomics but some of the replies on this app border on brain damage. People claiming money is infinite assets are infinite, resources infinite. "Bro just get the rich people to bring money here"
@SteveBellPropRT@lousalioppp@pjcboro It's not essentially infinite this is another nonsense statement by economically illiterate. There is always going to be a limit for one the person doesn't just put their money here for the sake they buy resources and assets which are finite. Labour is finite.
@pjcboro@lousalioppp You are economically absolutely clueless. You should not be listened to money represents the allocation of assets. The assets of the country are limited show me the unlimited workers. Every economist the world over agrees there is a finite amount of resources and labour.
@julianHjessop@polarbear1066@garyseconomics With the government borrowing 400bn and printing money. Astra Zenica just produced the vaccines from the goodness of their hearts. All that money spent in the NHS all of it went to the hands of the workers. What a bizarre argument.
@julianHjessop@polarbear1066@garyseconomics Why did the ftse have record buybacks in 2024 at 60bn. Why has the ftse rebounded much better than the economy and this is common in most developed nations. Asset price surges inflation surges which in turn has increased government debt and bond interest rates. Got nothing to do
@julianHjessop@polarbear1066@garyseconomics Ah yes furlough the thing that accounts for 1/4 and apparently when someone gets paid they don't spend that money on things like rent or mortgages. Which when you have inflation get more expensive and increases in asset prices mean more is spent as proportion.
@julianHjessop@Crooklar@polarbear1066@garyseconomics This is prime example of a meaningless argument, people bought stuff, but who owns most of Amazon? You're an economist make a credible argument. Who owns large chunk of the mortgages, bonds? Is it the working class?
@julianHjessop@polarbear1066@garyseconomics You're trying to be polite by intentionally misrepresenting Gary's views he never said it was a bung he said it was a transfer. Stop making strawmen arguments. It's pathetic. I'm sure Gary can be a bit obnoxious but the reaction of many economists just shows fragile egod
@jamespriceglos@K_Niemietz The 22% figure is nonsense it misses out so many things because they are hard to calculate ignores debt which many people who are very high net worth use to reduce tax burden and then his solution build houses. That reduces the value of people's houses and who owns the mortgages.
