@natecardingolf Then go watch another sport pal. Nobody said you needed to watch or play golf. If you don’t like what the pure form of the sport is, please exit the room. It’s not changing for you or any other moron like you, nor does it give a shit.
In addition to this, I would like to know why it is so incredibly difficult for you to wrap your head around how you and every other guy that made the leap have made golf solely about the money on both sides now. You’ve removed everything we loved about professional golf, Ian. The biggest golf tournaments of the year are the 4 majors, which are the purest and most competitive form of the sport. This brings in the most viewers because this is what we love to watch. While the PGAT events won’t ever come close to majors for us (neither will anything else, EVER), it still had this aspect (ex: competing to put dinner on your table). Sure, you were a very good player, but the money you were making was significantly more than what you’re actual worth was. You know why? Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, etc. So instead of being grateful for making significantly more than you were actually worth due to those men that actually grew the game, you and every other entitled prick wanted to try grab a chunk of change and say you were going to make a better product for the fans. *NEWSFLASH* In doing this, you have officially ruined the sport and made it the opposite of what golf fans actually want to watch. You’ve removed any true competitive aspect from professional golf and made it a giant money grab. I would imagine I don’t stand alone in saying I have and always will love golf, but I am done watching professional golf. I certainly hope that the people who got into golf during COVID (because it was the only thing anyone could do) stick around for you guys since that’s the golf fan you’re trying to appeal to now. Unfortunately I don’t think that will be the case though, and it hurts to think about you guys leaving golf in a worse place for us (yes I am part of the next generation) due to your incredible level of selfishness. The money may be bigger due to the financial backing, but that clearly doesn’t equate to more viewership/interest given the pathetic viewership numbers of LIV events so this isn’t growing the game!! We don’t care if you were making money for appearances before (which you still neglect to release the actual figures), the point is we didn’t hear about it. You didn’t leave for the product, you left for the money and as a result that’s what you’ve turned golf into removing the purity and greatness of the sport. Padraig, we are thankful for everything you do for the game.
@mehdirhasan@elonmusk this guy paid for his followers, right? There’s no way 1.3 million people clicked follow for him, and the amount of likes/views on any tweets prior to this whole situation is laughable.
@RiggsBarstool At least I’m not going crazy thinking this. Pat Perez is an open book so if he doesn’t come out and say it was for the money, there has to be something going on over there keeping them from saying it.
@RiggsBarstool Has anyone like this ever won a fight? I need some stats. Could be easy money betting whoever the other guy is, I don’t care if he’s 4’5”.
Every flight I think this is the flight…I’m gonna get a seat next to one of the hot girls on it. Every time I’m equally disappointed by what I get stuck next to.
