Fly Fit is moving to Mondays for the Fall Session! Fly Fit is a free 6-week fitness program for kids, teens, and adults with autism, as well as other developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families. Fly Fit is done in collaboration with the @Flybrave4autism, AMPT Fitness, and Visions in Motions.

The program buddies up EGPD staff with individuals with different abilities to learn about one another, build bridges, and forge friendships. The program will run every Monday from 5:30-6:30pm starting September 25th at the District 56 Preserve.

Our BBQ in the Beat 2023 series concludes this Saturday, September 16th at Derr-Okamoto Park (9550 Mainline Drive) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (please note, we stop serving food at 1:30). Meet officers, check out some of the special vehicles and equipment and enjoy games and a free barbecue lunch. @CosumnesFire will have fire vehicles there for all to check out as well. Traffic stop for vehicle code violations lands two in jail for the holiday weekend.

One of our Night Watch officers stopped a car for vehicle code violations on Friday around 3 am. When the officer made contact with the occupants, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. The driver was also found to be driving without a license.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a large amount of prescription pills, over two pounds of marijuana, a concealed rifle along with ammunition, among other items related to narcotic sales.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested on numerous firearm and narcotic sales/transportation charges and booked at the Main Jail where they remain in custody.

Some good work to keep Elk Grove safe!
