Small commercial fire today in Falmouth; strong work by FFRD personnel extinguishing it with a hose-line before it grew. Everyone went home after removing the smoke and thankfully there were no civilian/dept injuries. Special thanks to the depts that helped and that covered.
@frankriccidc@chieflasky@fireengineering ...having experienced it myself on many occasions. My concern/question is how would the rapid application of water to smoking turnout gear cause sufficient compression to exacerbate, not minimize burns to the wearer?
@frankriccidc@chieflasky@fireengineering Thank you Sir for taking the time to respond. For the record, all of my comments are made with the utmost respect to you, and I appreciate the opportunity for the discourse (even for an old retired guy)!. I understand the gear layer compression issue.....

“There are things you learn on the job—reading smoke, assessing risk and benefits before entering a building. And the best thing an old fireman can do is teach a new fireman how to be an old fireman,” Chief Small said. https://t.co/MeVTLkitwq
