Every man is a king in his own compound.

This is their strength and also their weakness. In western societies where there is strong focus on individualism, you’ll find that Igbo people succeed in their numbers, but once success is dependent on a shared goal and collective effort, they struggle like minorities even when they are clearly not in the minority.
