We are happy to have partnered with the @TheGreatTrail to make our trail signage program emphasize the heritage of the Ktunaxa Nation. It was just the right thing to do. Nice to see the recognition for doing so. https://t.co/u3jvh6bwEb
Just posted on a fb railfan page a few days ago. This 1967 accident happened near what is now the trail 5km post. The line was abandoned in 1970. Now its the CIT! Great photos.
New cattle-guard installed. We thank RSTBC's Lisa Cox for providing materials and an indigenous work crew for the initiative. Supervised by @TrailsBC 's Neil Shuttleworth, Dean and Will did a great job on the project while having to deal with the pesky mosquitoes.
Out on the Mayook Section doing some trail clearing and met Bill and Bonnie from Golden. They have done our trail before and like the variety of trails in the region here. They will be back. Tomorrow they are going to do the NorthStar Rails to Trails. @VisitCranbrook @KootRocks
During this time more families using the trail at the Cranbrook end. May not be aware of the easy 6.5 Rampart Loop trail. Only 8km from town -access at the HWY 3 reststop. Has over 15 panels and kiosks to highlight the natural and regional history of the area. @TheGreatTrail
On the Mayook section of trail around the 29km post. Photos courtesy of David Burwash Jr from Saturday. Nice pics, note the gorgeous cubs markings. @TheGreatTrail@TrailsBC But users please be bear aware.
Isadore Canyon Trail Head was expanded 2 years ago. Well now the Covid and its impact on trail use and we are running out of parking. Like many other trails in our area, we are seeing a record amount of trail use.The eye test and our counters confirm this. Yesterday 35 vehicles.
@bccycle @TheGreatTrail@TrailsBC Hi, the request would not have a big impact. We just wanted a direct route into a city park that the city gave us permission for to align more directly with parking there. Moti concerns was that we had an intersection 100 meters away that should be utilized.
TBC Volunteers finished off the Cranbrook @TheGreatTrail Loop that was supposed to be complete last year. We were waiting for permission from MoTi to cross directly from the at 9th St. South to go into Idlewild Park. Did not happen so we built a short connector along 9th St.
@JBCromwell @TheGreatTrail HI JB, you can find a link on Trails BC site https://t.co/0G2TFbBq8y and more detailed on Trail Forks at https://t.co/jJ11gx3atL
Thanks volunteers from provincial agencies-donating time @TheGreatTrail as part of public service day last week, 350 meters of CIT were dressed with fines. They moved over 16 cubic meters of gravel. After compaction, it will help for cycling on this coarser section of trail.
Mayook Trail, a part of the Chief Isador Trail which is part of the Trans Canada Trail network, between Wardner BC and Cranbrook BC. What a gorgeous ride. @ChiefIsadoreTr
Inclusive/Adaptive Trail. What a great idea, nice to see these going up in the province. Thanks to the CBT @TheTrustInfo and #FernieTrailsAllaince https://t.co/NlKfI1PG9g
We are glad to have a #RSTBC sponsored youth crew working on the trail this week. Under the guidance of @TrailsBC director Neil Shuttleworth, the crew are widening and graveling a 60 meter bypass section of trail. 2 years ago the original trail section was flooded.
Last Thursday evening a great opening of the Cranbrook @TheGreatTrail Loop. Ribbon cutting on the new section of trail named Pilisit named after the @ktunaxanation ancestral Chief Isadore. @TrailsBC director Neil Shuttleworth did the cutting supported by MP @WayneStetski
Celebrate with us the opening of the Cranbrook @TheGreatTrail Loop on Thursday May 23rd at 7:00 PM at the Isadore Canyon Trailhead. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on the newly constructed @ktunaxanation named trail section of Pilisit. @TrailsBC https://t.co/eAmYbQocTc
Jamie Jeffers checking out the new map sign post in the Cranbrook Community Forest being installed by Neil Shuttleworth. @TrailsBC is in the process of getting 13 of these mapping signs up as we work to the opening of the Cranbrook @TheGreatTrail Loop later this month.
Met up with John and Mila , enjoying an early season ride. From Edmonton they immigrated from Slovakia not too long ago. Just finished doing the Rampart Loop and really liked that. Encouraged them to at least try a bit of the Mayook Section. And off they went! @TheGreatTrail
