I was a (crash) investigator in 1997 when NHTSA kicked off the “Crashes Aren’t Accidents” nationwide campaign. Texas subsequently changed the ‘A’ Word to “crash” on report forms. Drunk, drugged, and distracted drivers don’t have accidents – they CRASH.
