Join us in thanking our detention staff for their hard work and dedication! We understand this job can be dangerous, stressful and requires sacrifice. Thank you to all Correctional Officer’s who keep their facilities and cities safe.
We are proud to partner with the International Homicide Investigators Association and the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation to host the Mass Casualty and Active Shooter Investigations course in Grand Prairie.
Despite a historic winter storm impacting travel across the country, the IHIA, @FBI, & the @GrandPrairiePD are officially underway with our Mass Casualty & Active Shooter Investigations Course this week in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Starting Friday, Jan. 23, a 24/7 warming center will be at the Public Safety Building, 1525 Arkansas Lane, for all Grand Prairie residents. This service will continue until weather conditions improve.

- Transportation to the center is not provided.
- Only service animals are permitted
- Sleeping bags and cots are not allowed inside the center.
- Residents are encouraged to bring chargers for their electronic devices.
