Keep strict boundaries with your so-called friends. Important to demote people from “friend” to “acquaintance” or “former friend I used to know”. Rip the bandaid off and cut them off. You will not die. Entertaining disrespect in the name of friendship is not it.
If we are finally talking about prosecuting corrupt leaders and their friends, nobody should pretend that the NCBA story is a small footnote in Kenya’s long history of state capture.
NCBA is not just another bank in the eyes of angry Kenyans, it is the face of a financial system where power, family connections, tax favours, public silence and political protection were mixed together and served to citizens as normal banking.
People watched ordinary Kenyans being hunted by KRA, small traders being crushed over tiny tax issues, SMEs being auctioned by banks, workers being overtaxed on payslips, then the same country was expected to look away when a politically connected bank enjoyed tax treatment that looked like it was operating from a church compound.
That is why some Kenyans call NCBA a criminal bank built on the sweat, tears and blood of ordinary citizens, because it became a symbol of how the connected few get waivers, protection and soft landings, while the rest of the country gets penalties, auctioneers, blacklisting and police threats.
If this was Russia, a bank carrying that kind of political anger, public suspicion and state capture baggage would not be sitting pretty issuing corporate statements and sponsoring polite events, it would have been swallowed by the state, stripped, cleaned out and turned into a public asset.
Kenya cannot keep pretending that corruption only happens when a governor steals bursary money or when a county officer eats imprest, because the real theft is often cleaner, quieter, dressed in suits and hidden behind banks, mergers, waivers, legal notices and boardroom handshakes.
Uhuru Kenyatta and his cronies should not be treated as retired gentlemen who simply went home after public service, because some of the biggest economic wounds in this country were created when state power and private family interests were allowed to sleep in the same bed.
If we want the truth, let the country open the NCBA files properly, open the tax waiver files, open the merger files, open the insider protection files, and explain to Kenyans why some people were allowed to build empires while ordinary citizens were being squeezed like thieves in their own country.
If we are talking about prosecuting corrupt leaders, I will not settle for anything less than seeing uhuru Kenyatta and his cronies on the dock . You think we have forgotten he once had NCBA operating like a church ,zero taxes .
We live in a joke of a country
When Kenyan athletes struggle to obtain sponsorships to go and represent Kenya... Some even have to pay for their own travel expenses. Or sleep in the streets... Like the skating guy... After winning medals
Here are our ministers and government pulling all the stops for a Somali national. Word on the ground is the reason Omar Artan was denied entry is because he tried to enter the US with a Kenyan diplomatic passport. This is how far they have eroded our citizenry. The other day news broke that they are selling IDs for 15k... Today they are dishing out diplomatic passports like candy
Joke of a country
The System is so broken that Armed criminals are now robbing kenyans in Cafes! Meanwhile kazi ya DCI ni ku-abduct kenyans who criticize the system. This happened last night at Chaiwali along General mathenge road
When I came back, Sammy had sadly passed on.I will never forget the face of that doctor, I begged him to save that little boys life. He died because of 900/= that I had and was willing to pay. He died because of bureaucracy, because bills have to be cleared before treatment begin
❗️A scene has unfolded at Kenyatta Hospital last night, a young boy called Driffel alias Driffo from Katwekera, Sarang'ombe Ward ward passed on at the hospital unexpectedly 😳. He had been rushed there by his friends after being attacked earlier in the night, Despite having SHA, Kenyatta National Hospital declined to attend to him, demanding for upfront payment before being admitted to ICU, having failed to raise the money, his poor parents started calling friends and relatives to chip in and help as the poor boy remained on the Accident and Emergency bed writhing in pain. By the time his friends and relatives arrived, he had passed on since no care was offered. His friends started agitating and demanding for answers, Kenyatta National Hospital security responded by detaining them, but as the crowd increased, they were released and decided to take the body with them. Kenyatta National Hospital management must tell Kenyans if it is a money making facility or an Hospital 🤔🤔. His friends arrived late to save him😭😭😭. Why decline SHA if it is working? This is totally unacceptable @KNH_hospital

One thing that upset Uhuru about 8.4.4. was how easily children of nobodies got education, up to university. The man did not like Kibaki's free education policy. He is not down to earth, not by a long stretch. And Matiang'i shared that madharau and viciously fought against Kenyans working their way into university. Not only did he massively fail children, he also wanted to withdraw degrees earned by people who entered university through diploma programs. He introduced publication requirements for PhD, increasing the amount of vanity publishing. And then, of course, he brought CBC that introduced a second layer of secondary school, so that JSS became the cliff over which children fall and end their education for good.
The reason why Kenyans are blind to what happened to their children is that all this war on education was justified as a concern for "quality" and "honesty." I even asked: do we realize what we are saying, which is that failure of children is something to celebrate? The idea is so racist, because it basically suggests that nothing is good if it has Africans in it. But the Uhuru/Matiang'i PR machine was so loud, it said that I was endorsing cheating and Kenyans believed it.
Uhuru and Matiang'i did a lot of damage to education and the Kenyan mind. A lot. We've been too preoccupied with the hurricane of Kasongo to understand what happened.

Ruto ataenda hata hawezi change constitution bila referendum. This defeatism mentality downplays the fact that power belongs to the people. We must keep reminding ourselves THE PEOPLE SHALL….
