Walking past my father-in-law teaching our preteens this morning: “You cannot live a life that pleases God if you look like your friends who don’t know Him. That’s why it’s so important to spend time with God and read your Bible.” #kidmin
Coach: “Your child needs to be at practice. It benefits them, & the team. Commitment matters.”
Parents: “Yes, coach. Wouldn’t miss.”
Pastor: “Your child needs to be at church. It benefits them, & the faith family. Commitment matters.”
Parents: “Wow, pastor. That’s legalistic!”
Glad to see they are so apologetic for attempting to leave us stranded at Heathrow for two days with an infant, with no accommodations offered. But of course, they’d welcome my money again.
For those following the saga - despite numerous @British_Airways employees on the ground at LHR and in customer service centers advising us to take alternate transport that BA would reimburse, they have decided not to. What a surprise.
The drama continues. @AmericanAir have decided $15.17 was an adequate reimbursement for the cancelled flight… 🤦🏼♂️ It’s disappointing the customer has to go through so much work to be taken care of, especially since soon @British_Airways are withdrawing DFW service.
Unfortunately BA’s complaints form on their website would not work on various devices or browsers so I relied on BA putting together the complaint for me. It does not to appear to have worked.
@AmericanAir have confirmed their findings - the refund for 1 flight cancelled out of 4 is worth <1.7% of the transaction. Makes sense. Hopefully credit card company will help where AA didn’t want to.
@ChilMinJared Helpful service is what we aim to provide. A refund amount would be calculated based on the unused fare paid. We can review the details in DM, please send your ticket number there.

Nobody anywhere at @HeathrowAirport to be found that could be any help. Solution for baggage inquiries was a phone rather than a person, and nobody ever picked up.
Our LHR-NCL was cancelled yesterday, and rebooked for two days later…
@British_Airways@AmericanAir The unwanted 2 day delayed flight was removed from our itinerary, so our return leg is intact. The second British airways person was able to contact one world for me and get it taken care of. I will submit all information alongside my compensation claim for the cancellation.
@British_Airways: that’s an American problem, speak to them.

What a mess! Hard travel day yesterday with flight cancellation mid-travel and no helpful care.

@British_Airways I will do that - how can I ensure that you communicate with your one world partner @AmericanAir and don’t just give me the runaround again?
@British_Airways I’ve spent an hour on the phone with multiple employees this morning, who didn’t express your level of concern and didn’t want to do anything. Is there an email address I can forward documents to alongside my formal written complaint?
Neither airline looks particularly good in this, and both share faults for different parts. Most disappointingly is how staff actually wanting to help have been few and far between.
All that to say, our boy did amazingly for his first long haul trip! Hopefully we can come home?
We ended up renting a minibus and driving to Newcastle. Got in around 1am instead of 5pm, but we made it!
Now both airlines are saying our return journey could be cancelled if we are “no-shows” for the flight we never wanted or accepted. Makes sense.
