If you are concerned about debt levels in the US and Europe, just take a look at China.
What if China’s ascent is just the biggest debt experiment ever? Is this sustainable? Can the debt binge continue forever, or will gravity kick in one day?
The worst thing about socialists is that they are too stupid to know what the actual problem is.
The rich aren't taking advantage of you, kids.
The MONEY is BROKEN.
In 1970, a median NYC home equaled 3.1× median household income.
Today, the median income is $81K and the median home is $778,600. That is 9.6× the median income, more than triple the ratio of 1970.
At 1970 affordability, today’s home would cost roughly $254K, not $779K. That is a $524K gap.
A 20% down payment alone now equals 23 months of median gross income.
Cost of living became the No. 1 issue for more than half of NYC voters. Roughly two-thirds of them backed Mamdani.
In 1971, the United States severed the dollar’s final link to gold, removing the last meaningful constraint on monetary expansion.
Since then, the money supply has been allowed to grow without a hard ceiling, pushing newly created dollars into scarce assets and sending the nominal prices of housing, stocks, land, and other stores of value relentlessly higher.
Do you think ordinary people wanted to become obsessed with treating homes like investment portfolios?
Nope. They were forced to store decades of labor in housing because holding cash meant watching their purchasing power slowly dissolve.
Socialists see the resulting inequality and blame capitalism.
They are staring directly at the wreckage of fiat money and demanding even more of it:
An extraordinary graphic showing what will happen in Poland if fertility rates simply stay where they are. Most of the developed world is on a trajectory of population collapse similar to this.
Nothing matters more than turning around birthrate decline.
This account deserves much more followers. Day after day, it uncovers the left bias of Switzerland's national public TV. In a democracy, no one should be forced to finance opposing political views.
@bitcoin_hotel Umfragen sind Umfragen, meist irgend ein Sample von 1000 Leuten. Abstimmungen sind da representativer. Aber gibt sicher genug, die das toll finden bis sie merken, was es ist.
Switzerland is the 6th largest foreign investor in the United States, with more than $352 billion in cumulative investment. 500 Swiss companies support nearly 400,000 American jobs across all 50 states, while more than 1,200 U.S. companies support over 95,000 jobs in Switzerland.
Together, the United States and Switzerland have built a strong two-way partnership that creates jobs, drives innovation, and benefits both nations. 🇺🇸🇨🇭
The economic case for abolishing the EU now kind of makes sense.
The EU initially sold the entire project as the way to make Europe an economic superpower.
But instead, the continent is steadily falling further behind.
In 2008, the EU’s economy per person was 76.5% the size of the United States and by 2023 it had fallen to 50%.
During those same 15 years, the American economy grew 87% and the EU grew only 13.5%.
US GDP per capita is nearly double the EU average in nominal terms and still about 38% higher after cost of living adjustments.
Growth has been abysmal. The Eurozone averaged a pathetic 0.9%, barely outrunning population growth.
So since the experiment failed and is obviously still headed in the wrong direction
why not pull the plug?
The left critics of the neoliberal economy in Switzerland are right, it’s simply unacceptable. Switzerland should follow the French model of a large state and high taxation.
Don’t the numbers simply speak for their left thesis?
Stalin’s communist Five Year Plan was a calculated campaign to break the Kazakhs.
Under orders from Moscow, the regime launched forced collectivization on a nomadic people who had lived by their herds for centuries. They seized livestock on a massive scale, pushed sedentarization, and imposed collective farms that made no sense on the steppe, all while extracting grain to feed the cities and fuel Stalin’s industrial fantasies.
The Kazakh herds collapsed by roughly 80%, food was taken even as starvation spread, and the regime treated resistance or flight as class enemy activity.
And the result was the Asharshylyq, a manmade famine that killed an estimated 1.5 million people and wiped out nearly 40% of the entire ethnic Kazakh population in just a few years.
Survivors fled by the hundreds of thousands, many dying along the way.
This was the predictable outcome of an ideology that treated human beings as raw material for the state, turning the steppe into a mass grave.
