@RegenceWA I need to speak with credentialing ASAP! I am unsure of when we, as providers, lost the "privilege" of reaching contracting directly, but this is an emergency situation re: my contract status. [email protected] / 206-371-9133

"some autistic children learn language in a range of inherently atypical ways, including without neurotypical joint attentional skills" https://t.co/j0SUBwT0QW editorial on gestalt language (& what if autistics generally learn in "inherently atypical ways" given the opportunity?)
From the petition to ASHA. 'This is not just about us as professionals "griping" about a dues increase; it's about maintaining high standards in our field & ensuring that our voices are heard within the organization that "advocates" and "represents" us.' https://t.co/XJw2yUBA2V
Sensory Processing Disorder does exist. It's real. Our kids are not bad kids. Our kids do not lack discipline. We are not making excuses for behaviors. A meltdown is not a tantrum. Sensory Processing Disorder can cause extreme reactions and anxiety. Children with SPD are not spoiled and they do not do it for attention. SPD does not affect everyone the same way. Please be understanding and supportive. ~Jeanette Loftus

@ChildComCorner Plz watch. I’m autistic and whenever I leave my home I can’t help feeling that I don’t belong. That’s why I love the song “Man In The Mirror”. It reminds us that that we all need to help build a world that is inclusive for everyone.

A huge congrats to James Martin, the first person with Down's syndrome to win an Oscar!
Let James be the first of many people with different abilities to lead the way in Hollywood!
Last night, James Martin became the first person with Down’s syndrome to win an Oscar 👏
In ‘An Irish Goodbye’, James plays a grieving son who wants to reconnect with his brother, with moments of cheekiness and humour alongside raw emotion.
I really don't care who people vote for, but I do care about the mental and physical wellbeing for our children - especially our children who are more at risk for abuse.

@michaelscat2 Our cat does this as well. We think she is telling us that she is hungry (more likely that she can see the bottom of her dish). She will point wands, toys, etc. all leading to her dish, often with a toy inside. It certainly gains the desired attention.
