165 young children living in 8 villages (where institutional learning facilities do not exist) were also monitored and engaged in preschool learning activities through home-based ECE (Early Childhood Education) activities! #TheMICAProject

In October 2022, 48 Anganwadi workers and support staff responsible for 18 Anganwadi centres were provided support for conducting age-appropriate learning activities for 482 children through the effective use of available teaching and learning materials.

In the month of October 2022, the GOOD teams from Belgaum & Bellary organised village-level awareness campaigns.
Awareness was created through pamphlets. Active participation was displayed by the community members and women! #ChildrenGOOD

In October 2022, 10 children's club meetings were organised in Chamarajanagar and Chikkaballapur districts in which 146 children from 9 villages attended the meeting and discussed child rights! #IMAGEIndia

In October of 2022, 25 community-level meetings were conducted to strengthen the rules and regulations for the effective functioning of the Self-Help Group, where 24 families were supported to strengthen/adopt additional livelihood options through the support of INR 225,00!

On 14th October 2022, Children GOOD Bijapur conducted a sensitisation programme for the elected representatives on motivating them to work on our common agenda of the prevention of the Devadasi system and the protection of children. #ChildrenGOOD

This event was organised on 22nd October 2022, in coordination with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). 214 volunteers were sensitised on their roles in educating people, on the importance of spreading awareness of human rights, and of conducting the Legal Literacy Camps.

Alternative means of livelihood are provided to the families living in the MICA Belt not only in agro-based, livestock-based, and petty business industries but also by establishing nutrition gardens in their backyard, providing the added benefit of good health!

The Children GOOD project sensitises relevant stakeholders such as temple priests and the larger community, on the rights of Devadasis and their protection systems, to create a community that prevents dedications and ensures that the Devadasis and their children are protected.

The GOOD project ensures access to alternate means of livelihood for devadasi mothers which has led to an average increase of 15%-20% in their household incomes!
