Thank you to every partner and studio team who shared their work with us at XBOX Games Showcase today. We are grateful to build this alongside all of you.
We want people to choose XBOX because of great games and experiences. That also means giving you something that was made for XBOX.
Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will be XBOX console exclusives!
I woke up today knowing that Resident Evil Veronica Final Fantasy 7 Revelation 1666 Amsterdam Stuntman Hollywood Crossfire Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Clutch and many more games are coming soon and that my friends put a Smile on my face.
Take-Two CEO says Rockstar's next game could be developed much faster than GTA 6
"Recent developments in technology will allow us to compress some development timelines without compromising quality"
When I say game devs are terrified of GTA 6, I am not exaggerating, they have felt this way for 2 years or so.
What Filip says here is basically how most game devs feel, they just aren't as open about it lol.
No one wants to release anywhere near GTA 6, it's suicide.
Xbox will continue to show competitive platform logos at upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.
I feel like the bare minimum expectation many had was for Xbox to really focus on their own platform at least for the time of the Showcase.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Balancing a full-time job with game dev interviews is incredibly taxing and I am increasingly getting more and more burned out, not to mention what it's costing me in my personal life.
After 6 years doing this I've come to realise that what I am doing isn't sustainable and financially it's asinine, I don't do it for the money obviously, there are way more lucrative ventures I could pursue if all I cared about was money and I love speaking with devs and I have formed some great friendships from it but some interviews I've made as little as $10NZD from it, given the amount of time I put into them it's roughly $1 an hour or less. I am currently evaluating things with the channel and whether I stop interviews altogether, dramatically cut back on them or only do them with the big names e.g Naughty Dog, Rockstar etc. Another option is doing a weekly livestream covering gaming news with a certain prestigious game dev who put his hand up to co-host it with me and we could bring in other devs as guests on from time to time.
Once I get back from India, I will make a more definite decision as to what I will do going forward, it's something I want to take my time dwelling on before I make a final decision (Any interviews already in the pipeline I will continue with though no matter what.)
Thanks to everyone who has ever watched my interviews, liked, commented (good or bad), shared them and especially to my Patreon/YouTube Members (you have no idea how much of a lifeline you have been.) and of course the devs themselves. 🙏
Watch this space.
IWGB has announced the launch of the newly formed Rockstar Games Union (RGU) with dozens of employees across Rockstar’s UK studios joining the union.
Alongside the announcement, the union has launched its new Twitter account, @rsgworkersunion
With the announcement of the Rockstar Game Workers Union happening and London, Leeds, Dundee and Lincoln joining Rockstar's North union, as great as it is in the short term, long term I am a bit worried what this means for the devs there. Execs will find some way of circumventing this.
The more demands they make and the more unionising that happens the more it will make the heads outsource more of the work to another studio or move more of the workflows to Rockstar India, unfortunately that's the nature of business.
Ive said it before but if Rockstar was a car then Rockstar India is the engine. I am in India next month and meeting with some devs in Bangalore during my brief stint there so I will be interested if what is happening in the UK is having much of an effect in the Bangalore studio and devs there.
I’ve finished 007 First Light and can confidently say this is one of the best action games of the generation for me.
Really remarkable game that seamlessly stirs so many styles into a James Bond cocktail.
The nearly six year wait was worth it, almost unbelievably so.
In an interview with @IGN, Strauss Zelnick stated he believes that regardless of how much buzz there is surrounding GTA VI during quiet moments, the game still needs official marketing:
“I do think no matter how big a franchise is, the consumers need to engage with that prior to release. And I think the motion picture business reflects that as well. So if you put out a sequel to Mission: Impossible, trust me, the studio is still going to spend a whole lot of money marketing that title”
A lot of people will overlook that but if you put that into perspective, Rockstar has
- 11 studios around the world
- Roughly 5,000 developers
- Over a decade of pressure and expectations
ALL working on GTA 6.
This isn’t just another game for them, it’s literally going to be the greatest entertainment product ever created.
When Rockstar said:
We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

Had a chat with Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick about GTA 6 today and the potential for another delay. He said "we feel really good" about the November release date. I get the impression it's happening https://t.co/wgBVkMcHyU
