推敲 tuīqiāo, to weigh one's words (literally "push, knock")
The story goes that the Tang poet 贾岛 (賈島) couldn't choose between 僧推月下门 (僧推月下門) and 僧敲月下门 (僧敲月下門): does the monk push the gate in the moonlight, or knock at it? He rode his donkey into the procession of 韩愈 (韓愈), who chose 敲. The story was written down much later, but the word stuck.

Rhett Butler's parting line from Gone with the Wind (《亂世佳人》《乱世佳人》). 坦白說 (坦白说) is "frankly", literally "speaking plainly". Four of its 汉字 are written differently in simplified Chinese: 說 说, 親 亲, 愛 爱, 點 点. Simplified writes the speech radical 訁 in two strokes as 讠, and simplified love 爱 has lost the heart 心 from the middle of 愛.
