The level of anti-China hatred in Japan has reached new heights.
This post in Japanese reports of a Chinese tourist saving the life of a female Japanese after she fell into the sea.
The replies, however, are filled with claims of it being fake and anti-China remarks.
To the normal people, who does not have an irrational fear or hatred of China, may wonder why that is?
Did China bomb Japan to oblivion?
Did China invade Japan and murdered their citizens?
No, China did none of that in our 5000 years of civilization. Instead, we gave Japan our writing, our culture and our values. Pity, many of them didn't learn the altruistic part of our culture, only blind loyalty to their xenophobic isolationist mindsets.
This is why, we Chinese find it hard to reconcile with Japan for what they did to us from 1894 to 1945. It's not about unable to let go of the past, it's about a criminal living next to us going unpunished or lightly punished, and for some reason hates us. Despite the fact that it was them who committed the crimes.
I used to think this hatred for us Chinese is a form of defense mechanism.
The idea that if you hate your victims, then there is no way you are at fault.
But the more I get to know the Japanese, I've come to the conclusion that many of them are just shitty people.
It is crucial to understand that this is a major reason for the West’s increasing belligerence toward China over the past decade. China’s development is challenging Western monopolies. This imposes a direct squeeze on Western profits but it also undermines a core tenet of imperialism.
The West’s monopoly power allows them to impose dependency on the global South. The South is forced to export large quantities of raw materials and intermediate goods in order to pay for imports at monopoly prices.
This produces large net flows from the global South, propping up the West’s growth and profits. If the West’s monopoly power declines, this flow gets cut off. They are desperate to prevent this from happening, to the point of fantasising about going to war with China to destroy China’s industrial base.
The West’s whole model for capital accumulation depends on Southern dependency. As that arrangement becomes increasingly unstable, the Western ruling class will become increasingly violent.
People should probably spend some time on Chinese social media when talking about the Natasha Doll issue, because the last couple of weeks’ worth of discourse on WeChat and Rednote have mostly been horrified parents demanding the toy be banned and the manufacturer prosecuted
@Tianxiashunv Tons of oppressed people have shitty politics lol. Being oppressed does not make you a sage overnight. Oftentimes it’s the opposite. That’s why mass education and having a vanguard party is important.
@uZJ1MWw1u9FOwwi@lieningren1@jona_net You’re arguing with a west worshipping autistic incel school kid who thinks the highest form of oppression is too much homework and no gacha game on workdays.
An Indianacct posting this is too funny.
This place remained this way bc the land (city centre of Guangzhou) is too expensive to develop btw, the owners are not poor by any means.
