Still thinking about this interview a day later. Especially the idea of shifting the common perception that reading is done with the eyes — when it’s really done with the mind, and any of us (regardless of disability) may access it with ears instead of eyes.
@bethannon@heyamberhinds@LisaSabinWilson SSML also allows for audio clips to be embedded (i.e. they could embed the piano parts as well). This is work that a blogger might consider but probably not a podcaster who is already producing a full audio artifact.
@bethannon@heyamberhinds@LisaSabinWilson Any text2voice reader can read the transcript (some are more human like and some are still more robotic). The standard readers use a single voice to read the text. But, if the transcript uses SSML, some of the readers (i.e. Alexa) can use multiple voices like a conversation.
Met Max at @SuperJoePardo podcast conference. I setup Amazon and Google apps for both Max's brands What's Your Excuse and The Blind Blogger so he can manage his brand on voice devices like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. DM if you want details for your brand.
Smart Speakers (like Amazon @alexa99 and @Google Home) are now in every room of the house. Can they help with #a11y? Find out in @ChipEdwards4's talk "Using Smart Speakers for Accessibility." https://t.co/xMQA2PNQVf #WPAccessibilityDay
@maxwellivey Max, thanks for reposting this. I enjoyed talking with you and since that episode @CreateMyVoice has released some cool features for Podcasters (and Bloggers). Now you can use Amazon Alexa to share past episodes/posts. Try it: "Alexa, Ask What's Your Excuse to play episode 55"
@ChipEdwards4@CreateMyVoice I could not keep doing what I do without your help getting my show on Alexa and Google and keeping it there. I hope you and your followers enjoy my latest song titled What’s Your Excuse? Show thanks so much, Mac
@wmjackson Thanks for the shout-out! Love helping bloggers and podcasters use #VoiceAssistants (Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant) to distribute their content!
"If you don't ask, you already know the answer" was the first thing I learned from @maxwellivey - Max models being proactive! @CreateMyVoice has been a proud sponsor of What's Your Excuse and The Blind Blogger
