A story worth reading in Hindustan Times. BMC gave tree-care contracts to builders as they made low bids
🌳🌴
Read that again.
Maintenance of trees across Mumbai given to builders. We now see the results.
Data accessed by HT has revealed that BMC awarded contracts worth ₹42.24 crore to remove and prune dead and dangerous trees across 23 municipal wards from May 2026 to May 2027 to construction and infrastructure contractors – not known for specialised arboriculture or urban forestry.

14 years. ₹16,000 crores. Yet, driving from #Mumbai to #Goa in 6 hours is still a fictional sci-fi script. 🎬
Kudos to @MorthIndia & @NHAI_Official for turning a highway project into a generational heritage site!
Why build a safe road when you can give commuters an annual monsoon water park & off-roading experience? 🚙🌧️

Here's another story worth reading:
A risk assessment survey conducted on pilot basis in Mumbai's H west ward (Bandra west, Khar west, Santacruz west) on nearly 5000 trees has shown that a “high proportion” of the trees are in poor health because of years of unscientific pruning and inadequate maintenance by the civic body.
“A high proportion of these 5,000 trees pose a risk because many have been damaged by repeated road works, unscientific pruning and multiple stress factors, including ageing, pest infestations and fungal attacks,” an executive from the firm conducting the survey said.

It has been TWO WEEKS now. We are once again reminding @mybmc and @AshwiniBhide that almost all tree islands on Shri Hari Mandir Marg have been concretised by the road contractor. 🔴
These are some really big and old tree, all accidents will be the responsibility of the BMC. They are made aware of it well in advance.
📍 Shri Hari Mandir Marg, from Goregaon Traffic Police station to MG Road, Goregaon west.

Situation of Vasari Hill road, near Prem Nagar Junction and near Kia car showroom, Goregaon West, Mumbai.
Entire road (where not concretised) is getting washed away. Life threatening potholes, @mybmc#MNCDFflyingSquad
Don't listen to the fake sympathy that Mumbai's politicians are showing over the deaths linked to the monsoon.
See what they are doing.
The latest: Grab of Football Ground in Bandra. To replace it with a concrete structure.
When you view a city for plunder, this is what happens
Hello @mybmc please fix these before someone falls and die during monsoons.
Urgent.
Opp. Blue Tokai Cafe and Hotel Regal Enclave, 4th Road, Ram Krishna Nagar, Khar West.

The patch left incomplete by @mybmc for few months has now turned into a full-fledged pothole, which may cause accidents.
Where is the promise to fill potholes in 24 hours @mybmcInfra?
Outside Goregaon traffic police station, Goregaon west.

Is the Bandra Police Station above the law of the land ?
- Is PSI Bhagwan Potfode of @BandraPS a God to decide the intention of an accused who has MURDERED & RUN OVER a Cat ?
That is for court to decide. Do we have to teach law to the officers ?
- Had the Bandra Police colluded with the Accused ?
- Why no FIR u/s 325 of BNS in
Cognizable offence ?
Mumbai: The municipal corporation of the city with the lowest open space in the world - wants to make it even lower.
Plan to replace a sports ground with an "Exhibition Center." As most observers know, the Center is the alibi for a bigger real estate play.
MNCDF Citizen Welfare Forum demanded stringent criminal sections under BNS be imposed & the builder be made an accused. Finally, it appears that @MumbaiPolice has accepted our appeal.
Sad news in today's papers, the tragic news of one victim passing away.
May Justice Prevail.
