Hi, I'm Chloe.
I'm 20 years old and today I put my first Β£200 into my Stocks & Shares ISA
I haven't invested it yet because I want to understand why I'm buying something, not just copy other people
Right now I'm researching VWRP as a long-term investment
All advice is welcome
@shaguncrypto Iβm 20 and buying a house honestly hasnβt even crossed my mind yet.
Iβd rather see more of the world first, then think about where I actually want to settle.
If you were 20 again, would you pay more attention to your pension, or was putting nearer goals first the right choice for you?
What happened later that shaped your answer?
What was the first investing mistake you made that actually changed how you behaved afterwards?
I've only just started, so the stories are more useful to me than another list of rules.
@ChrisDB101 Thatβs a useful warning.
Something having done well recently can feel like proof youβre making the right choice, when it might be the exact reason to slow down.
Thanks for sharing.
@SammyFutures That sounds exhausting. I can see how checking too often would make it much harder to leave things alone, so Iβm trying not to build that habit.
First Friday portfolio update π
My Β£200 is worth Β£197.04 after week one.
Iβm sharing this every Friday so I can look back at the whole journey, not only post when itβs going well.
Being down Β£2.96 after seven days doesnβt bother me. Week one was never going to tell me much.
@DividendDrip I don't want to wish my life away but I am so excited to see where we all are in 20 - 30 years time.
I really get the sense that FinX is going to hold me accountable to the good decisions I've made so far.
That alone, is a great reason to be here.
If you could go back to 20, would you chase higher pay, work you enjoyed more, or extra free time?
Which choice mattered most in the life you ended up with?
