Still basking in the afterglow of @kendrinrae ‘s fantastic seminar on weight bias and discrimination in obesity research. I am proud to know such kind, strong, and intelligent female leaders who are shifting research paradigms. @center_lead
A few new papers from my amazing mentor @AnnePStarling's group at the LEAD Center (@center_lead)! Excited to continue to be a part of some of this work. @lizandenise
Climate change and air pollution, largely caused by the burning of fossil fuels, pose serious harms to children’s health. Children from communities of color and low-income communities are disproportionately harmed. https://t.co/v7yY4WMEza
Welcome to Dr. Mohammed Al-Musawi, who we are so honored to have joining us as a clinical team member after being a critical part of our research efforts. We are lucky to have you! @CUDeptSurg #vasctwitter https://t.co/s3enE6EaYH
Excited to share my first publication with @AnnePStarling and @center_lead on air pollution exposure during pregnancy and inflammatory biomarkers in the mother and infant! Thank you to all of the co-authors on this work 😊

A thread… (1/7)
Our results suggest air pollution exposure during pregnancy may impact the maternal immune response. More studies are needed to look into the health consequences of elevated inflammatory biomarkers. 7/7
We didn’t find consistent associations between these air pollutants and cord blood inflammatory biomarkers, nor between maternal inflammatory biomarkers and infant birth weight and body composition. 6/7
