‘IT’S WHEN 24 BECOMES 22!’
"When 12 senators convened and purportedly held session, how can that be valid?" pagkuwestiyon ni Sen. Cayetano.
Win Gatchalian bilang bagong Senate President Pro Tempore. Nagkaroon din ng pagpapalit sa committee chairmanships.
‘THE SENATE SESSION OF JUNE 3, 2026 WAS LAWFUL AND VALID’
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) released an official statement on the legitimacy of the Senate quorum held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
IBP cited the Supreme Court decision on the landmark case of Avelino vs. Cuenco.
“In short, the Senate session of June 3, 2026 was lawful and valid following the Avelino doctrine because a quorum of 12 Senators was constituted. All acts, resolutions and decisions made by the Senate during its session of June 3, 2026 are presumed to be official acts of the Philippine Senate following the presumption of regularity in the discharge of official functions,” their statement read. LOREN LEGARDA, NAIYAK DIN
Senator Loren Legarda teared up while Senator Pia Cayetano turned emotional at the Senate on Wednesday, as she recalled the shooting incident last week.
“I just want to make this quick statement. (Photos by Ryan Baldemor/The Philippine STAR)

'NAPAKASAKIT NO'N SA'MIN!'
I didn't even hear any of you say, 'Kumusta na kayo diyan?'" emosyonal na pahayag ng senadora.
