EXCLUSIVE LEAD:

Sources tell @eNCA that Lieutenant-Colonel Deenadayalan “Deena” Govender, an officer attached with the DPCI in KwaZulu-Natal, was subject to a search of his residence and workplace, during which is alleged several electronic devices were seized on Friday.

IPID executed a search warrant while investigations are ongoing, but could not explain what else was seized.

MADLANGA COMMISSION:

Evidence presented at the Madlanga commission revealed that approximately R3 million in cash flowed through the bank accounts of Govender and his wife between August 2022 and December 2023, significantly exceeding his monthly take-home salary of under R26,000.
