As students @GoldsmithsUoL we have have had to put up with the bare minimum of teaching and resources.
We are still having to pay FULL fees of £9250 per year and some of our modules do not have any teaching whatsoever only PowerPoints and readings... P1
@boohoo@boohoo_cshelp can you please explain your quality control at this point please? I ordered two outfits from you and paid for postage for both outfits to come with holes in! See photos attached.
This is Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole
He was known to his friends as Jimi
He was 20 years old
Yesterday, he gave his life to save the life of a complete stranger
And I don’t have words to describe how extraordinary I think he is
Rest peacefully, you brave, beautiful young man...
If I’m being honest I feel like #MeghanMarkle is holding a lot of things back to protect the monarchy, this woman isn’t bashing the royal family, she is telling HER TRUTH, and after the media bashing she has received it’s about Time.
Students + staff can win with collective action. Students at @rentstrikeUoM won a 30% rent cut, lecturers at @UCU_HWUBranc stopped job cuts. Support the rent strikes! Support the marking boycott! Join the Goldsmiths virtual picket, 1-5 March: https://t.co/xnibUQQeV5 (5/5)
@GoldsmithsUoL is hitting BAME, women workers hardest. Academics from these groups are more likely to be on temp contracts, so more vulnerable to being sacked. @FCorner has failed to carry out a full equalities assessment to see how badly her cuts will hurt these workers. (3/5)
The lowest-paid academics are most at risk. Associate lecturers (ALs) do ~40% of the teaching at @GoldsmithsUoL, inc majority of seminar teaching, for only 7% of the total pay. These lecturers on temp contracts are most at risk of being sacked. #SaveGoldsmiths (2/5)
Want to know what’s happening at @GoldsmithsUoL, where lecturers are on a marking boycott to defend jobs and #SaveGoldsmiths from @FCorner’s plans to sack >120 staff, centralise control and destroy Goldsmiths’ radical culture? Explainer thread! > (1/5)
@GoldsmithsUoL doesn’t care about its staff or students. @FCorner promised face-to-face teaching during #Covid when this was unrealistic. Now she won’t meet demands of students on rent, staff on jobs. Why is she pushing through cuts rather than keeping students, staff safe? (4/5)
really rubs me the wrong way when restaurants give out free meals to celebrities ‘on the house’ but can’t walk outside and give a homeless person a hot drink or snack ?
