Cars, trucks, lorries, vans etc should never be allowed to park in Male’, not even in parking buildings cause Male’ is too small. They should only be allowed to drive through Male’, transport goods etc.

A separate parking platform like this can be built and attached to Male’, in a way vehicles are protected from sea water. The engineering is there. For example, it can be protected through glass or a similar material too.

Drivers can then get their vehicles in their motorbikes in the morning, park it there and get into their cars and start their day. Come back at the end of the day, park car there, get on their motorcycle or bus, and go back home. All companies can also do it. All SOEs. But people who have garage inside at their houses can still park at their houses.

Allowing these vehicles to park in a parking building (when it’s introduced) in Male’ will cause a lot of bad traffic, from entering and exiting the building.

Only two-wheelers should be allowed to park in Male’, ideally speaking.

Male’ is just too small. If we change parking to a model similar to this, people will start to feel a tangible impact. Male’ is already overused, carrying capacity has already reached its limit.
