Saying the words "white people" in front of a room of white people is WILD, I did it recently.

Watch what happens around you... EXTREME discomfort.

White people have been conditioned to believe that even saying the words "white people" is a slur. That to even acknowledge themselves as a group, is itself, an act of racism.

Really, it's just an insane thing to realize how successful the psychological operation has been.

An entire group of people have been taught to be afraid of their own name, taught that noticing themselves is a truly evil thing to do.

Yet, simultaneously, taught that EVERY OTHER demographic can speak about itself like that, but if YOU say "White people" it's a slur.

The operation was SO successful, it's insane.

I've thought a lot about this over the past day or two and I think I have a novel interpretation as to why this almost perfectly captures how fucked the UK is. to be clear, I do not mean the reality of the comparison, I mean the fact that the Brits polled got it so comically wrong.

the scale of welfare in the UK is absolutely insane (whatever your guess of both % and absolute numbers on welfare, I guarantee you it's higher, even if you factor this prompt into your guess).

but, more importantly, it is largely regionally clustered around two equally pathetic groups: formerly industrial towns hollowed out because a) we only do finance now and b) energy is evil apparently, so even if you wanted to make something, you can't, and ii) ethnic ghettoes of unassimilated immigrants.

why does this matter?

because a huge number of Brits simply never see this. they never encounter these people. they may as well not exist as far as their *lived experience* (lololololol) is concerned. their existence is a far-right conspiracy.

so when they are asked by some pollster to compare the UK to US states, they only compare what they have any familiarty with. and to be fair, insofar as their sample is hilariously biased, their estimates are probably correct. the 7th US state would put our GDP per capita at around $95k or £70k. £70k probably feels about right for the Britain of which they have any experience.

but guess what, shitheads, you don't live in Britain! YOU LIVE IN YOOKAY!

both the top and the bottom are dragged down relative to the US. in the US, the top is dragged way up by outliers starting (and then working at) outrageously successful businesses. in the UK, nobody does that, and if you do it by accident, you quickly leave before they tax you a kidney.

in the US, the bottom is dragged down by welfare, yes, but the scale of the UK's self-immolation in this regard completely dwarfs it (I'm not going to tell you the numbers. I want you to guess and then go check, and make sure to strip out medicare and medicaid for a fair comparison given the NHS, envy of the world).

the story isn't so much the comparison as the hilarity of the *correct analysis* of the comparison being completely lost on the Brits polled to come up with this.

the subsidizers simply have no idea what country they live in, and they vote accordingly. the subsidized know exactly what country they live in, and they vote accordingly too.

See, the thing about subversives is they're very fond of playing games with language, and there's a fascinating language game being played here.

Bengali, Pakistani and Jamaican are all ethnic and national groupings, he takes care to separate them and mention them by name according to their corresponding ethnic and national categories.

Then, there's "White guys". This is neither ethnic nor national, it's frankly barely even racial, it's a colour. It could be Polish people, Latvians, Romanians, but no, you know who he means. He means English people.

In deliberately omitting the ethnic and national label for the people he is speaking of he sends a clear, rather important message. Bengalis, Pakistanis and Jamaicans are real, they are from their respective nations and hold claim to them even while living in England. YOU however, "White guy", do not. You are not real, your ethnic group is fake and you have no claim over this land in which you reside. You are not "English", because that would imply origin and claim over England, which he wants. No, you are just "White" just as somebody French would be "White" or somebody Polish would be "White". This applies to all of them too.

The reason this is important is also made clear in the language game people like this have been playing for a while, which is also played in this video, "Heh, back to where I'm from? You mean... SHEFFIELD???" It's a claim, the claim is that he holds equal right to claim origin in this land as you do. However, you will of course note that YOU could never hold claim to Bangladesh because YOU are not "Bengali", you're just a "White guy", someone with no homeland who must share his space, resources, time and effort with anybody who arrives here.

On top of this, he has the nerve to demand that those same "White guys", whose ethnicity he wont even utter in the same breath as his own, work WITH him to make it easier for him to sap up your space, resources, time and effort.

The same people who devote large swaths of time complaining about past colonialist expansions posit that, despite YOUR family being here for 1000 years and theirs for just 40, he has claim over your ancestral home and resources, because you're just a "White guy", not a Bengali, Pakistani or Jamaican like him.

This is textbook and frankly pathetic subversion, it demands that you don't notice that he denies your very existence while begging to stay in your land, stamping his feet that he's "From Sheffield, really guys!" Of course, at the same time, letting you know that HE'S Bengali, from Bangladesh and that YOU should apologise for the racism and colonialism his people underwent.

It's a very tiresome and constant wave of subversive, overly emotive slop that fundamentally reveals a deep malice to the English as a people.
