Very excited to share our new paper on drug repurposing in a DPAGT1-CDG fly model: https://t.co/5hRaqqcrFl. Thank you to everyone in the @ChowLab! More research in rare diseases and essential genes to come as a new Asst Prof in @KUMolBio.
The @ChowLab is looking for postdocs! Lots of rare disease projects looking for genetic modifiers and drugs, all focused on translational potential. Opportunities to work in a basic science lab but interface with physicians, foundations, and families. https://t.co/gQA8peq22G
NEW PAPER ALERT! @HansMDalton, former @chowlab postdoc, performed a drug repurposing screen in a fly model of DPAGT1 CDG, a disorder caused by mutations in the first step of N-linked glycosylation. 1/ https://t.co/oo9Zfm3lnp
Hey #TAGC24! The @ChowLab is looking to hire everyone. Techs, postdocs, & research scientists! If you want to use or learn to use the fly to help people living with rare disease, find me! Read about how we’re using flies to find new rare disease medicines. https://t.co/bRtsJm4yS7
A nice write up at @KSLcom about our partnership with @cureSYNGAP1 to try to find a possible therapy for SYNGAP1. Flies to the rescue.

“This is the time for rare diseases. In the next ten years, I think you’ll see therapies rolling out left and right because it’s just been waiting for the technology to be there. I think we have all the tools. What’s lacking is the funding.” – Clement Chow https://t.co/2ZTKacILkO
It's so exciting that our science is having immediate real world impact in the lives of those living with rare diseases! So proud of the @ChowLab for working so hard at this.
The @ChowLab is looking for a postdoc to help evaluate potential drug therapies in #NGLY1 deficiency preclinical models. Lots of opportunities to interface with the NGLY1 community, physicians, and patients. #raredisease

If you’re a senior grad student and want to do a postdoc that could impact the lives of those living with rare disease, the @chowlab could be a good fit! Previous PDs who’ve worked on our projects get snapped up by industry bc of their rare disease and drug experience. DM me!
I'm excited to announce that the @ChowLab just formed a multi year partnership with the Center for Personalized Medicine at Primary Children’s Hospital and the Dept of Pediatrics to perform Drosophila-based, personalized repurposing drug screens for local rare disease patients.
The @ChowLab is looking for a technician to help run our rare disease drug discovery pipeline. Duties include standard fly maintenance, setting up screens, phenotyping, & analyzing data. There will be opportunities to interact w/ physicians & patients

I am very thankful to @ClementYChow, our keynote @UIowaACB retreat, for showing up and singing the praises of my favorite model system, Drosophila melanogaster to discover and treat rare diseases 💛🪰💁🏼♀️
(And shout out to the @ChowLab for providing data for such a cool talk!)
Grad students attending #Dros22, We are looking for postdocs to work on a number of different projects. You can get a flavor for some of them in this thread. Also, opportunities to work with physicians, patients and industry. DM if interested!
And this view!
So excited to be working on this! Our Rising Stars in Genetics and Genomics symposium will be awesome! It'll be 2 fun days of hearing about the science from these 12 up and coming leaders. Please register: https://t.co/d35VIw1TJC
