@Alonso_GD I finally moved everything to Linux (bazzite, mint) and I was surprised how easy it was. Tried it on an old laptop first, set it up on my main desktop after day 1.
Yesterday I was asked whether the "plan" may lead to peace. I said: I am happy that the hostages (all Israelis and regrettably just some Palestinians) will finally be freed. That's great. But thats it. My prediction was:Israel will continue to destroy Gaza until someone STOPS IT.
Israel has deported 137 people detained for attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. This is the second deportation, after four Italians were returned on Friday.
While those deported seem to be in good health, they have raised serious concerns about the wellbeing of others still detained. “They dragged little Greta (Thunberg) by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag,” Turkish activist and flotilla participant Ersin Celik told journalists. “They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others.”
Novara Media journalist @Kieran.Andrieu was on the charter flight, which landed in Istanbul on Saturday afternoon, along with eight other British nationals. Four remain in detention.
36 Turkish nationals were also deported, 23 Malaysians, 26 Italians, 6 Algerians, 10 Tunisians, 7 Libyans, 4 Moroccans, 2 Kuwaitis, 2 Jordanians, 9 Swiss citizens and one person from each of Mauritania, the United States and Bahrain.
Novara Media understands this means that 321 people remain in detention. Adalah, the legal centre in Israel that is providing lawyers to detainees, said this morning that conditions may be worsening for some people inside Ketziot prison, with reports emerging of mistreatment and violence.
A spokesperson for Adalah said that while it was difficult to say much at this stage, they are hearing of worse treatment from non-Europeans, and are particularly concerned for those without diplomatic missions in Israel.
Glad this post was published. I am happy I was eventually able to share my work in Germany, despite the pressure, intimidation, and mafia-style tactics surrounding my visit. The scale and speed of repression of fundamental freedoms (surrounding Palestine), alongside the resurgence of unchecked racism, are truly alarming. And more despicable than censorship, is the widespread self-censorship.
